To enter the contest, you must visit the contest page and submit a video recording of yourself performing any composition of mine included in the “Accidental Etudes” book during the contest period, along with your name and the requested contact information.
No purchase required - selected eligible scores can be found in this PDF, which can be downloaded for free. These free scores give you exactly the same chances in the contest as any other score found in the book.
To be valid, entries must be received by Monday, 31st of August, 2015, 11:59pm ET.
There is no limit on the number of entries a person can submit, however, only one entry per person will be selected by me for the 2nd stage of the contest (see below).
2. Your entry
You can perform any eligible piece on both an acoustic piano or a keyboard. You are not required to perform from memory (i.e. you may use the score).
You must upload the video recording of your performance on YouTube. You must mention the contest in the video description and put a link to the contest page.
Pieces must be played in their complete form. To be eligible, your entry must be unedited. Your hands and face must be visible in your entry at all times.
Your entry will be reviewed by me within one week of the submission. Accepted entries will be posted on the contest page in the reverse chronological order.
Any content deemed to be inappropriate will be disqualified at my sole discretion (I may or may not explain the reason using the provided e-mail).
You declare that you have consent from any people appearing in your entry (including parental consent for minors).
By submitting your entry, you grant me a royalty-free, perpetual, non-exclusive, unrestricted, worldwide license to publish, reproduce and distribute the submitted video in all media, on all digital platforms. You also grant me rights to use your name, picture and voice, where applicable, in conjunction with the use of your video.
3. Eligibility
The contest is open worldwide, however, some restrictions may apply regarding the prizes.
For any contestant who has not reached the age of majority, parent or guardian consent is necessary to enter the contest. Where appropriate, the terms “contestant” and “winner” mean parent or guardian of that person.
4. Contest timeline
1st stage - until 31st of August, 2015, 11:59pm ET.
The contest is open for entry submission.
2nd stage - 1st of September, 2015 at 12:01am ET until 7th of September, 2015 at 11:59pm ET
The TOP10 finalists will be determined by me during the 1st week of September.
The selection will be solely based on the technical skills and the artistic expression. No luck or any other random element involved.
3rd stage - 8th of September, 2015 at 12:01am ET until 14th of September, 2015 at 11:59pm ET
The public voting will be open to determine the TOP3 winners.
If two or more entries receive the same number of votes, I reserve the right, at my sole discretion, to order them according to my own decision.
Award stage - 15th of September, 2015 until 18th of September, 2015
The winners will be contacted by the provided e-mail. If a winner cannot be reached within this timeframe or declines the prize, the prize shall be forfeited and I have the right, at my sole discretion, to select another winner.
All books and CDs will be signed by me. You can choose whom you want them to be signed to (e.g. if you want to give them as a present to someone).
You can also substitute any CD with any other album of mine.
6. Liability, additional rules and restrictions
Odds of winning depend on the number of entries received. Based on the number of entries received during the 1st stage of the contest, I reserve the right, at my sole discretion, to reduce the number of finalists as well as the number of winners.
By entering this contest, each participant consents that their personal information will be kept during the contest period. Each participant also consents that their contact information may be used for receiving the prizes (in the case of winning).
Some restrictions may apply regarding Amazon.com Gift Card that may prevent me from awarding this prize. These restrictions are caused by the local laws of each participant. By entering this contest you accept that I cannot guarantee the delivery of this prize and accept that this prize cannot be substituted.
To the fullest extent permissible by law, I shall not be liable for any loss or damage, injury or disappointment whatsoever which is suffered or sustained as a result of participation in the contest (including any damage to participant or any other person’s computer or any other device as a result of downloading or accessing any materials).
The contest is run solely by myself and not sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with any other party, including (but not limited to) Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, SoundCloud and so on.
